# Supported files and limits

> Check supported file extensions and the documented limits on document size, extraction schemas, and prompts before sending a Transform request.

The Transform web app and API use the following file types and input limits. The Transform MCP server supports a broader file-type list. See [MCP supported file types](/transform/supported-file-types).

| Document upload | 50 MB per document on Upload, Parse, or direct Extract. Exact byte boundary is not specified here. |
| Supported extensions | `.bmp`, `.docx`, `.heic`, `.jpeg`, `.jpg`, `.pdf`, `.png`, `.pptx`, `.tiff` |
| JSON extraction schema | 1,048,576 serialized bytes for a `parse_id` request. Multipart schema declares a maximum string length of 1,048,576. |
| Prompt | 1,048,576 UTF-8 bytes per request. |

Use one document per request. The Transform API does not currently support URL ingestion, presigned uploads, or multi-document uploads.

No public values are specified for result size, request rate, or concurrent jobs. Treat those limits as unknown and do not assume unlimited capacity. If the API returns `rate_limited` or `quota_exceeded`, follow [recovery guidance](/transform/recovery).
